JAKE ZUFELT
Jake is a Utah native, born and raised in Moab. A “good ol’ boy” through and through, he was shaped by his father and grandfather—miners, homesteaders, and later flooring contractors—who taught him the value of hard work, integrity, and putting family first.
From the time he could hold a hammer, Jake was learning the trade—repairing fences, fixing animal pens, and helping with whatever needed attention around the farm. As a teenager, he began working alongside his father installing flooring and blinds for the family business. Over the next 15 years, he worked his way up from scrap boy to installer, and eventually to running his own crews.
Jake’s natural fix-it abilities opened doors across the construction industry. He has experience in concrete, finish work on residential homes, commercial build-outs, tenant improvements, and served as an HVAC service manager. One of his most rewarding roles was as Chief Engineer for the Marriott hotels in Moab, where he built teams and helped open new properties throughout Utah, Colorado, California, Montana, and Nevada.
Jake believed hospitality would be his forever career—but when COVID reshaped the industry, life took him in a new direction. After marrying his amazing wife, he followed her to the big city and started his own handyman business while earning his General Contractor’s license. He is proud of the journey that brought him here and the opportunity to bring his experience, honesty, and craftsmanship to The Boys Next Door Custom Spaces.
Above all, Jake is most proud of his two incredible daughters and his three adorable granddaughters, who completely own his heart. When he’s not working, Jake loves collecting and working on antique cars, traveling, and making lasting memories with his family.
He looks forward to helping make your dream home, cabin, yard, or workspace a reality.

MATTHEW LEE
Matthew Lee has spent more than 15 years in the construction industry, getting his start as a teenager working alongside his dad building pre-cast tilt wall buildings. Those early experiences instilled in him a deep respect for hard work, precision, and craftsmanship that continues to shape the way he builds today.
Throughout his career, Matthew has developed experience in project management, design, sales, concrete work, remodels, new builds, and highly detailed custom woodwork. He has a strong appreciation for the creative side of construction and especially enjoys building custom, fun spaces—home theaters, man caves, game rooms, and other personalized areas where families gather and memories are made. He takes pride in thoughtful details and creating spaces that are both functional and meaningful.
Outside of construction, Matthew’s greatest joy is his family. He has been married to the love of his life for nearly 18 years, and together they are raising three incredible daughters who are his world. He continued to play football throughout his life and now coaches his oldest daughter’s team. He is actively involved in his middle daughter’s lacrosse and his youngest daughter’s cheer, making it a priority to show up and support them in everything they do.
As a family, they love to travel—both locally and abroad—and enjoy experiencing new places together. Whether on a job site, on the field, or at home with his family, Matthew brings the same mindset: work hard, stay present, and build something that lasts.
